Private by design
Most online converters upload your images to their servers first. Ours doesn’t — the entire conversion runs inside your browser, so your images never leave your machine. This is enforced by a Content-Security-Policy that blocks the page from talking to any third-party server, and it means the tool keeps working even offline once the page has loaded. Frequently asked questions
Which conversions are supported?
Any direction between PNG, JPG and WebP — for example PNG to JPG, JPG to WebP, or WebP to PNG. For lossy targets (JPG and WebP) you can also set the quality.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Conversion runs entirely in your browser. Your image is decoded and re-encoded in your browser's memory and is never transmitted anywhere. Our pages ship a Content-Security-Policy that blocks the browser from sending your file to any other origin.
What happens to transparency when I convert to JPG?
JPG does not support transparency, so any transparent areas are flattened onto a white background. Convert to PNG or WebP instead if you need to keep transparency.
Is WebP smaller than PNG or JPG?
Usually, yes. WebP typically produces smaller files than both PNG and JPG at similar quality, which is why it's a great choice for the web. Every modern browser can display WebP.
Is it free, and is there a file limit?
It's completely free with no sign-up. There's no hard file-size limit imposed by us — practical limits depend on your device's available memory.
Is my original file changed?
No. You download a new file in the chosen format; the original is untouched and nothing is retained after you reload the page.
